Beginner's Guide
This section is for the moment before the manual makes sense: what BigLedger is, what you will be doing in it, and which page to open next. It is questions and answers, in plain English, with no procedure to follow.
If you are ready to actually do something, the instructions live in the user guide. This section points you at them.
The questions people ask first
The three facts worth knowing before anything else
1. A draft does nothing. Every document goes DRAFT → FINAL. While it is a draft, nobody else can see it and nothing has happened. “I raised it and nothing happened” is nearly always this.
2. Not every document posts. On the sales side, only the sales invoice and the POS cash bill move stock and touch your accounts. A quotation, a sales order, a delivery note — all deliberately inert. On the purchasing side, the purchase invoice is the one that counts, not the goods received note.
3. Everything reads the same records. There is no synchronising between the accounting part and the inventory part. Your customer list is one customer list.
Almost every early confusion is one of those three.

What success looks like
You are through this section when you can answer, without looking:
- What happens when you save a document as a draft? (Nothing — nobody else can see it.)
- Which sales document moves stock? (The sales invoice, and the POS cash bill at the counter.)
- Where do you look up what a particular setting does? (That applet’s reference page.)
Where to ask
Open an issue at BigLedger-Support/public — say which tenant you are on, which applet you were in, what you expected to happen and what happened instead.
Your BigLedger contact is faster for anything specific to your own tenant: permissions, e-invoice authorisation, applet registration, or your data. They can see your configuration; the documentation cannot.
