What arrives in the other company

Step 1 — Read what the purchase invoice copied

You can predict every figure on the buyer's document.

RM 20,000

An RM 20,000 sale keyed as RM 2,000 becomes an RM 2,000…

Step 2 — Know when the purchase reaches the buyer's books

You know which document counts in whose books, and from when.

What this step names
  1. With Auto Final Target Doc ticked
  2. The draft is marked final straight away and handed to the posting
  3. The checks the Final button runs are not run

Month end and the queue

Step 3 — Keep both dates in the same month

The pair will not fall on either side of a month end.

So a sale dated 31 March and finalised on 2 April gives…

Step 4 — Work the queue, and find the pairings that failed

You know where to look, so nothing waits unseen.

When something needs undoing

Step 5 — Correct one side without breaking the pair

A correction will not leave the pair half done.

What success looks like

Step 6 — Agree the two companies at month end

You can prove the pair agrees, and you know what the software leaves to you.

  1. Look first for drafts not finalised
  2. MANUAL rows not confirmed
  3. A pair dated either side of the month end
  4. A credit note that went the wrong way
