Step 2 — Know that the recompute reaches every open session, not just this one

You will stop assuming a closed month is closed.

  2. The recompute does not touch only the reconciliation you happen to have…
  3. In date order
  4. Rewrites the opening and closing cash book balance of each

What counts as a change

You will trust the screen while you work in it.

What this step names
  1. The trigger is deliberately narrow about what counts…
  2. Amount
  3. Date
  4. Cash book
  5. Source document
  6. Company moves

The line that is not there

Step 4 — Meet the line that was never written at all

You will stop hunting for a line that does not exist.

What this step names
  1. Financial Report
  2. Error Checking
  3. Trace Document takes a document type and a number and reports exactly…
  4. With a Resolve button that posts the lines without voiding
  5. Re-keying anything

Step 5 — Know that unposting is a separate subscription from posting

You will know why one company behaves unlike another.

The routine

Step 6 — Run the thirty-second routine

You will have one procedure covering all of it.

What you do
  1. Press Refresh calculated balance and read the difference again; if it changed…
  2. Compare the cash book closing balance with the number you signed off
  3. List that cash book's lines for the period and sort by the date they…
